[ES] ¿Tiene futuro el acuífero de Requena-Utiel? Claves para una gestión sostenible del agua
El 13 de abril de 2023, se celebró en Requena la jornada divulgativa "El estado y Gestión del Acuífero" organizada por los proyectos InTheMED (folleto de InTheMED) y eGROUNDWATER y la Junta Central de Usuarios de la masa de agua subterránea Requena-Utiel, a la que acudieron 200 personas.
El acto comenzó con unas palabras por parte del Secretario Autonómico de Agricultura, Roger Llanes, el Presidente de la Confederación Hidrográfica del Júcar, Miguel Polo y el alcalde de Requena, Mario Sánchez.
Después, Carles Sanchis, de eGROUNDWATER, expuso los avances de su proyecto y Janire Uribe-Asarta presentó el proyecto InTheMED y sus principales logros: el análisis de las series temporales de piezometría, efectos del cambio climático en la evolución de la precipitación y temperatura en la región de Requena-Utiel, modelos simplificados de flujo de agua subterránea y alternativas de mitigación del principal problema del acuífero Requena-Utiel, la sobreexplotación, en este enlace se puede descargar la presentación (presentación de InTheMED).
La jornada terminó con una mesa redonda donde participaron J. Jaime Gómez-Hernández (líder de InTheMED), Teodoro Estrela Monreal, Director General del Agua del Ministerio para la Transición Ecológica y el Reto Demográfico, y Luis Bonet Pérez de León, responsable del Servicio de Tecnología del Riego del Instituto Valenciano de Investigaciones Agrarias. Debatieron sobre el estado del acuífero, las medidas para alcanzar la sostenibilidad en la gestión del acuífero, entre las que destacan la participación de los usuarios y la investigación en aguas subterráneas, y la optimización de la agricultura en la región.

On April 13, 2023, the dissemination session "The State and Management of the Aquifer" was held in Requena, organized by the InTheMED (InTheMED brochure) and eGROUNDWATER projects and the Central Board of Users of the Requena-Utiel groundwater mass, which was attended by 200 people.
The session began with a few words by the Autonomous Secretary of Agriculture, Roger Llanes, the President of the Júcar Hydrographic Confederation, Miguel Polo and the mayor of Requena, Mario Sánchez.
Then, Carles Sanchis showed the progress of eGROUNDWATER and Janire Uribe-Asarta presented the InTheMED project and its main achievements: analysis of piezometric time series, effects of climate change on the evolution of precipitation and temperature in the Requena-Utiel region, simplified groundwater flow models and mitigation alternatives for the major problem of the Requena-Utiel aquifer, overexploitation; the presentation can be downloaded at this link (InTheMED presentation).
The session ended with a round table with the participation of J. Jaime Gómez-Hernández (project leader), Teodoro Estrela Monreal, General Director for Water at the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, and Luis Bonet Pérez de León, head of the Service of Irrigation Technology of the Valencian Institute of Agricultural Research. They discussed the state of the aquifer, the measures to achieve sustainability in aquifer management, among which the participation of users and groundwater research stand out, and the optimization of agriculture in the region.
