EDIA – Empresa de Desenvolvimento e Infraestruturas do Alqueva, S.A. was born in 1995.
It is a public limited company with an exclusively public share capital and belongs to the state corporate sector.
Its mission is to design, execute, build and operate the Alqueva Multipurpose Project (EFMA), thereby contributing to the economic and social development of its area of intervention: 20 municipalities in the districts of Beja, Évora, Portalegre and Setúbal.
With its head office located in Beja, the centre of the beneficiary region, EDIA’s strategic orientation whose priorities are making most of the Project based on “water” as a resource and increasing production and the profitability of investments in the infrastructures created to make the project a success.
